The Early Childhood program at Orlando Junior Academy provides a quality first school experience for children ages three to five years old.

At Orlando Junior Academy we believe in a whole child approach to learning. Special attention is given to intellectual, spiritual, social, emotional, physical and creative growth.

A child has a natural curiosity about their world; our program builds on this curiosity with a curriculum rich in emergent literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical education, library and Spanish. Computers are available in every classroom to enhance beginning technology skills. The interactive, hands on play based Scripture Bites curriculum is used in our three year old program. Our four year old classrooms use the school readiness, play based Houghton Mifflin Early Childhood Curriculum along with the Singapore Math curriculum. This curriculum meets the learning goals for the state of Florida and are designed to prepare children for early literacy.

Our spacious classrooms are designed to promote play and exploration with an emphasis on learning through play. Children are encouraged to problem solve and will work both independently and cooperatively with their classmates, each child working at his/her own pace.

“True education means more than the pursuit of a certain course of study. It means more than a preparation for the life that now is. It has to do with the whole being, and with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the mental and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider services in the world to come” ~Education, E.G. White p.11

The Early Childhood Program at Orlando Junior Academy is the only Center in our district to be awarded a perfect score of 100% for the second year in a row by the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County!
